Housed in a magnificent building that once belonged to a Ukranian Princess, this museum contains the major works of Van Dongen, and a splendid Dufy collection, who produced many paintings of Nice and who then donated the works painted in his studio to the town. Early Italian masters, Orientalists, Impressionists and Symbolists (Gustave-Adolphe Mossa’s works are superb) share the other display rooms, not forgetting the works of Jules Chéret, the father of modern Poster Art. 33, Avenue des Beaumettes. Open in winter from 10 am to noon and from 2 pm to 5 pm, except Mondays; and in summer from 10 am to noon and from 3 pm to 6 pm.
